NATIONAL SPORTS DAY - ''HOLISTIC APPROACH TO EDUCATION THROUGH SPORTS AND GAMES''

The National Sports Day is celebrated on 29 August, to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand Singh. For every individual, it is essential to maintain the right balance between Sports and Academics as both are interconnected & complement each other. Education is as essential for sport, as sport is for education. They resemble the two sides of the same coin. In academics, one can learn the intellectual lessons whereas, in sports, one can learn the life lessons so both of them are a great combination of cerebral and physical intelligence. Many research studies have concluded that children getting equal exposure to sports and academics turn into better focused and disciplined with higher punctuality values.

AECS-2, Mumbai organized a mass yoga demonstration on the occasion of International Yoga Day, the theme being “Yoga for Humanity” as a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign to commemorate 75 years of Independence. Yoga fundamentally means letting the virtues of godliness and spirituality permeate one’s mind — it’s about self-realisation and the ability to merge one’s mind with the soul. Researchers around the world agree that yoga therapies play a key role in improving the quality of life by significantly reducing symptoms linked to depression, boosting immunity, improving cardiovascular functioning, and enhancing sleep patterns.
