CONCEPT OF PHYSIOLOGY BEHIND SPORTS # CARDIO FITNESS WORKOUT

Dear Students, Endurance is a term widely used in sports and can mean many different things to different people. Endurance requires the circulatory and respiratory systems to supply energy to the working muscles in order to support sustained physical activity. Heart rate of a normal person is 72 beats per minute that means heart beats 72 times per minute to supply oxygen rich blood to different parts of the body especially working group of muscles. However, for an athlete/runner, heart rate is as low as 38-45 beats/minute. A teaching tool that demonstrates effect of workout on heart rate and lung capacity was developed.
